I*EARN-Mali is part of the International Education and Research Network, a global network of learning for communities of children across the world working on collaborative learning and research projects via Internet. Represented in more than 125 countries across the world, I*EARN facilitates collaborative projects where communities of learners collectively develop on-line content related to school curriculums. The action of I*EARN Mali follows the will of Mali’s government to fight poverty through the use of ICTs. I*EARN-Mali has the active support and participation of the schools, parents, students, teachers and the Ministry of Education. I*EARN-Mali has trained 29 teachers on how to use ICT to participate in collaborative projects in the frame of I*EARN Friendship Through Education Program in 2003.
From this first training till today IEARN-Mali has promoted the use of online project and several schools through the training of teachers and their involvement on projects.
This year 2007 IEARN-Mali has been chosen to implemente the YES (Youth Exchange and Study ) Program in Mali.
